What does a Beachbody Coach Do And How Do I Become One?

I feel like I get this question, ALL THE TIME! What does a Beachbody coach do? Take selfies after their workout? Take amazing pictures of their food and tweet about it? Flex in the mirror and post it to Instagram? Well, yes..we do that, but we do so much MORE!!

1. We are here to help others reach their goals. Many Beachbody coaches have absolutely no background in fitness or nutrition and you know what? Most of those coaches are super successful! We are not here to be experts, we are here to be your accountability, your motivators, your inspiration! We share what has worked for us and others and tweak it to fit your needs, budget, and lifestyle.

2. We are products of the product. As a coach, you are a product of the product. We are passionate about what Beachbody has to offer because we know it works! It has worked for us and it still is working. I am STILL working on my fitness goals, I am nowhere near perfect, but I use the products daily and have never felt better in my life!

3. We are hardworking. Many of us are coaches on top of our side jobs. We put 100% into our full time jobs and then come home and continue working with our Beachbody business. Is it time consuming? Only if you want it to be! This is OUR business, no one makes our hours or sets our goals but US.

4. We are fun! This couldn't be more true. We love to work hard, but we play hard too. As a coach we have SO many opportunities to earn trips (heading to Cancun in April, all expenses paid, holla!!), attend conventions, and TRAVEL because of the lifestyle Beachbody provides for us. How many other jobs can really say that?

5. We are able to live our lives by OUR design! A lot of BB coaches are full time coaches, meaning they create a residual income and work from home on OUR time and OUR schedule. Life is so much better when you're able to do it the way you want to, am I right?

6. We are potential six figure income earners. We have the ability to have an infinite income. How? By creating lives for our team that they want. By helping others reach their physical and financial goals. It's all about how YOU want to do it, no one can make you do this, it's up to you.

So why am I here answering these questions for you? Because I have finally gotten my first taste of financial freedom and the endless opportunities Beachbody can provide. I have dwindled my debt down with BEACHBODY money alone. I have had the opportunity to pay for vacations, car repairs, and gifts in cash! I know like most 28 year old girls, my credit card used to be my bestie and it was getting me nowhere but in trouble. This company has provided me with not only the opportunity but the amazing training and tools to be successful and begin my journey to financial freedom.

Clean Eating Homemade Salsa

Since I've started my anti-candida diet, I have had to really cut back (basically eliminate) sugar. And guess what most salsas are full of...SUGAR! I love a good tasty, Mexican dish as much as the next person so I decided to buck up and make my own! And it was TASTY! I did miss the sweetness of pre-made salsas, but obviously that would be missing with the lack of sugar:) #thankgodforfoodprocessors

Gluten Free, Sugar Free, Paleo Friendly Salsa

- 4 Roma tomatoes
- 1 Jalepeno
- Sprinkle of red pepper flakes
- 1/2 onion
- 1/3 cup of fresh cilantro
- 1/4 cup of water
- 1/2 tsp extra virgin olive oil
- 2 cloves of garlic

1. Cut tomatoes in half
2. Heat up 1/4 cup of water in skillet, add tomatoes
3. Let tomatoes simmer for 3 minutes, then flip on to other side for 3 minutes
4. Pull off flaking skin (if any) from tomato and add to food processor
5. Dice up onion and garlic
6. Sautee garlic and onion in oil in skillet for 4-5 minutes
7.  Add garlic, onion, and all additional ingredients to food processor and pulse slightly
8. Store in air tight container, should last about 2 weeks!

PiYo Week 7 and PiYo Results

I am officially done with my first round of PiYo! Let me just start off by saying, this is my SOULMATE program. I don't typically believe in soulmates, but this particular program has a special place in my heart now. I loved the low impact but intense workouts it provided. So here are what my schedules for week 7 and 8 looked like!

I have noticed a huge difference in my flexibility and strength above all else. Here are what my results are...

I am not quite as defined yet (hence BB), but I definitely took some off of my waist! I am so excited about how much closer to my goals that this has brought me. This program is literally for everyone since it is so low impact and the modifications are adapatable to any level of fitness and flexibility. Body Beast: Female Week 1 Progress

So first week of Body Beast is in the BOOKS! I have some big plans for this program, my main one being to cut the rest of the fat I have been looking to lose and tone up. I know, most people kind of give up when winter comes around because you can hide behind the layers, but not this girl. Here is what week 1 looked like, I am doing the Body Beast Lean Beast schedule!

Monday: Chest/Tris

Wednesday: Back/Bis
Thursday: Beast Cardio and Abs
Friday: Shoulders
Saturday: Chest/Tris
Sunday: Rest Day

Now, everyone I know who has done this program was like "holy leg day", but let me tell you I think chest and triceps was the most difficult. If you're anything like me and have a weaker upper body I think you will find the same thing.

The newest addition to my family, Lulu has been here for a week and is adjusting well! I already love her so much! All of that you have been following me know that I have had a huge life change since last December. I have constantly felt like I was missing something (which I am) and it's not that she replaces it, but she makes me genuinely happy to come home and be home. Honestly, besides coaching, this little pup has been the best decision of my life! Both her and Beachbody have brought so much positive and exciting energy into my life, I don't know where or how I would have coped without them or the people I have met on the way! Feeling super grateful today!
 have been on a huge no excuses kick lately and let me tell you why. I feel like so often, people say "I don't have time", when in reality what they should be saying is, "it's not a priority". Because we make time, even the busiest of people, for things we prioritize. I have seen a lot of different articles and listened to a lot of different stories lately on people just not making time to be healthy and how it is not catching up to them in the long run. I know that people think eating healthy is expensive (it's not, I have the receipts to show it!) and that exercising just takes too much time (25 minutes a day, seriously, the benefits are worth waking up 25 minutes earlier). Think about your children and the example your setting. Think about how you could change someone's life just by making tiny adjustments in your everyday routine.

How to Beat Season Affective Disorder and a Fit for Fall Support Group

Fall is coming...and what comes after fall?? WINTER! I am one of the crazy people that prefers winter to summer but I know this season can turn some people into a serious funk, but I'm not letting it happen to YOU this year!

What is seasonal affective disorder?

Seasonal affective disorder (also called SAD) is a kind of depression that follows the seasons. The most common type of SAD is called winter depression. It usually begins in late fall or early winter and goes away by summer..BUT if you live in the midwest or anywhere up north...that is A LONG TIME!!

Is SAD frequent?!?

About 4 to 6 percent of people may have winter depression. Another 10 to 20 percent may have mild SAD. SAD is four times more common in women than in men. Although some children and teenagers get SAD, it usually doesn't start in people younger than age 20. Your chance of getting SAD goes down as you get older.

What's the best way to combat depression of ANY type?!  A HEALTHY, BALANCED LIFESTYLE!! Yes, I am talking to you! The mother of 4 that works full time, the college student who gets test anxiety, the single dad...YOU NEED THIS! Not just for you, but for your family..
With that being said..

PiYo Week 6 Progress and Magnesium Deficiency

So many exciting things have happened in this last week! I am 3/4 of the way done with the regular PiYo schedule and I am on track to feeling better with my drastic diet change, but it has been more difficult than easy. I had no idea what I was in for, lol. Let's just say I think this will be more of a gradual change than an abrupt one like we wanted. It's hard to cut yourself off of things cold turkey! So here is what this week's PiYo schedule looked like!

Sunday: Sweat

I did add a little LMP (see below) one day, I was cleared by my orthopedist to life and do a little more intense exercise. Turns out that I have some pretty intense tendonitis in the quad of my bad knee so off to physical therapy I go, but I am SUPER thankful it doesn't call for surgery or resting. He told me to "listen to my body".  Obviously I need to learn to listen better.
And now the update on how the Anti-Candida diet is going. Um how is HARD? I mean, I know I have to do it or I might as well just use my money to pick up the dog crap on the street, but I am going to need a much gentler transition to this diet. I have been doing a ton of research and it turns out sugar and yeast are in..well..everything. So I am allowing myself 2-3 cheat meals (from the Anti-Candida diet, not clean eating:)) a week for the first month while I ease into it and then to the strict 1 meal per week. I definitely can tell a difference when I do cheat though, the bloat and the headache are horrible. Giving myself the injections for immunotherapy is no where near as bad as I expected though. Now that we have a game plan for that, we are moving on to my inability to absorb minerals..the first being MAGNESIUM!

Did you know that millions suffer from magnesium deficiency and have no idea? It is so hard to diagnose, my doctor is using the intramuscular magnesium loading test. So basically (sorry this may be TMI) he knows I am deficient because I have every symptom, he is just doing the test to see how deficient I am. I had to collect my urine (what a process and has literally taken over two days) and they are measuring what my levels are before the shots of magnesium (in my lower back, not my fave part of this summer by any means) were administered and then compare that number to what they are after the shots. If there is magnesium in the after urine, it means my body is absorbing it on it's own, but if it doesn't, that means my body is absorbing it like a sponge because it's deficient. Sounds easy enough, right? I am super pumped about this portion because apparently magnesium deficiency is what causes insomnia, NECK pain, headaches, IBS, and RLS. All crap that I've been dealing with for YEARS. I HIGHLY recommend finding a physician who is willing to look into this if you are feeling the same way.

OH and I tried to make a new recipe for all of you. Gluten free lemon zucchini bread. It obviously didn't work out, but stay tuned!

Lastly, I have a new physical goal I have set for myself and the deadline is December 25, 2014. This is the goal:

SOOO in two weeks I am going to start working on this by doing 2/days with replacing one meal a day with Shakeology, Body Beast (lean) and PiYo (strength schedule). I totally need my fit fam's help with this!
